IN NEED OF CHURCH
MICE
Have you wanted to volunteer but kind of want to
sneak in and sneak out at a time that suits your
schedule? We have the perfect ministry for you! Each
week, we have volunteers that tidy the sanctuary by
going through pew pads, checking to see that pencils
are sharpened, etc. You will be rotating with other
volunteers and might only help a couple of months
out of the year. For more information or to sign-up,
call the church office.
L.I.F.E. KIDS MINISTRY
TEAM
We would love to have you join our team! There are
many opportunities available ranging from rocking
babies and hall monitors to small group leaders.
Please contact Vicki Reke at
vicki@mthorebumc.com
or 359-3495 to see where your best fit on the team!
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY
Would you like to volunteer for about three hours
weekly or even monthly, answering the telephones and
greeting people as they come into the Administrative
are of Mt. Horeb? If so, please contact Maria at
359-3495 or
Maria@mthorebumc.com.
There is no experience necessary as we will be
organizing and training for this opportunity in the
very near future.
HELPING HANDS CRAFTERS
This group would like to thank those who have
contributed materials, thread, yarn, and other
supplies to our efforts. Almost 200 pew dolls have
already gone with mission trips this year. Also,
several hundred pillows have been made for Dorn VA
Hospital in Columbia. We hope that you will continue
to contribute or come and join us on Wednesday
mornings.
ATTENTION ALL MEN
Are you looking for a way to workout this summer and
fall? Join us each Tuesday night in the FLC for
Men's Open Gym. Pick up basketball games are from
7:00 to 8:30 each Tuesday night. Skills are not
required. You must be 18 years or older to play on
Tuesday nights. See Chris Carver or Butch Scott for
more details or call the church office for
information. No registration is required.
GETHSEMANE MINISTRY
The Gethsemane Ministry
needs volunteers to check church doors around 9:00 pm, which only takes
about 15 minutes. We also need subs for this ministry. If you would like

HAITI CHILDREN PROJECT ORPHANAGE UPDATE
After 32 months of construction, dozens of teams,
hundreds of missioners, and countless donations, the building is not
only done, it is occupied! On Friday, July 16th the first 29 kids moved
into the new building. A team from Mt. Horeb helped make the transition
for the kids a great one with lots of love, crafts, and VBS! They
enjoyed "real" beds and many took a shower for the first time in their
lives. Thanks to every one of you! Help is needed with school fees. It
costs $240 per child per year for books, tuition, and uniforms. If you
can help with one child or if 10 persons give $24 it will bring us
closer to having them all in school. You can also help sponsor a child
for $29 per month by going to their website at
www.haitichildrenproject.org/donation
CHRIST CARING FOR PEOPLE THROUGH PEOPLE
That's the motto of Stephen Ministry. The Stephen
Minister's role is to bring God's love into the lives of people who are
going through a difficult time or are experiencing a crisis. What do
Stephen Ministers do? They listen to you, care for you, support and
encourage you, and pray with and for you. And in the midst of this
confidential, one-to-one, caring relationship, God's healing love comes
pouring through. If you, or someone you know, is facing a crisis - large
or small - and could benefit from the caring presence of a Stephen
Minister, talk to one of our Stephen Leaders: Gary Goodman at
600-7739 or Valli Johnson at 261-7212. Our Stephen Ministers are ready
to care for you!
NEW HOME MINISTRY
The New Home Ministry is
in need of couches, beds, mattresses, end tables, and other furniture
and household items. If anyone can help with these needs, please email
Meghan Trowbridge at
meghant@mindspring.com or call
957-8018.
A LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE
Would you be willing
to take a moment to provide a little sunshine to one of our homebound
members? Please consider sending a card of encouragement to let
them know that we care and are praying for them. Call the church
office for this week's member.

the following items specifically: jelly, peanut butter,
spaghetti, cereal, grits, oatmeal and the following

CARE MINISTRY
This great
group of volunteers ministers to our families of
special needs kids by allowing them an evening out

you and your family to get involved! Please
